Is it good practice to git ignore the hooks folder

I’m trying to clean up a NativeScript git repo and noticed that files in the hooks directory are checked in and says that they have been modified on my local machine. Should they be tracked or is it something that gets autogenerated and should be removed from the repo and .gitignored? I’m currently the only one working on the project and have never touched files in that directory.

You can completely ignore hooks directory until you haven’t written any hook on your own for that particular project.
