I am new to NativeScript, do I have to specialize well enough in typescript and Angular 2 before getting my hands on NativeScript

You don’t need to know Angular or Typescript at all!

I don’t use Angular because I just generally don’t need the overhead (but the component architecture can be handy for large projects). But no angular is defiantly just faster and less headaches.

I use Typescript just to help catch errors, but there’s nothing forcing you to, plain .js works perfectly fine, I mean Typescript compiles down to .js ANYWAY.
