How to find the files I write to the device?

#1

Hi

I can’t find the files i create anywhere on my device?
"_path": “/data/data/org.nativescript.FooBar/files/CoolApp/FirstUser/uniqeFileName.txt”

I can find the /data/org.nativescript.FooBar/ directory, but it only contains an empty folder named “cache”

i’m running in development mode

You need to have root access on your device to be able to see stuff in external programs under the /data/data folder. Without root the only apps that have access to /data/data/ is yourapp.

If you are using a emulator; it is fairly easy to get root access. If you are using a real device; you will need to research how to get root access on your specific device.

You can also use ADB to copy files from /data/data/<app_name> if you have enough security (i.e. emulators should work, real devices might not without root)

Thank you so much for helping me out here. Guess I’ll try to root 1 of my devices and see if that does it for me :slight_smile:

Have a great weekend
